Quote: I really dont think that the people taking order have a clue, I would bet its contracted out to some third party company for the mint. Correct on both accounts. I know a girl that lives in Brownsburg, IN, that works for the mint fulfillment center in Plainfield, IN. 1) She actually works for Pitney Bowes who is contracted by the mint, and.... 2) Yes, she's dumber than a box of rocks. Has no clue about any of the mints items and also doesn't really care.

I wonder how long the mint will keep taking orders under the wait list?

I would appreciate any input, what does "waiting list has started " mean. Also I just checked the you S Mints site, the sets are still for sale, and the site and item say nothing about any waiting list, and the shipping date says 10-30-09, like I was told when I ordered my 1st set, not the 11-13-09 some have told me they saw, any one?

Yesterday, not sure if it was late afternoon or in the evening. I also saw on the mint web site that the shipping date had changed from 10-30-09 to 11-13-09. When I looked this morning it was changed back to 10-30-09.

from the mint on this link http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...ory_rn=10111Waiting List Notice: The number of orders we have taken meets the maximum limit for the United States Mint Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set. You may still place an order for this product, which will go on a waiting list. If a product becomes available due to an order cancellation, we will fulfill orders from the waiting list on a first-in, first-served basis. We cannot provide information about your position on the waiting list. When we place your order on the waiting list, we will send you an order receipt. This is not a guarantee that you will receive your order. If we are not able to fulfill part or all of your order, you will receive a cancellation or sold-out notification. If you paid by check, you will receive a refund. If paying by credit card, please be sure your credit card information remains current to avoid any delays in processing your order. If your credit card has expired by the time of shipment, your order will be cancelled. To update credit card information after an order has been placed, you must call 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).

Thank you for the information, so essentially, they are sold out?

yes they are sold out but you can still place an order and be on a waiting list to see if someone cancels the order or credit card is not valid. If that happens they will go to the first person on the waiting list and the next one that has the same problem will go to the next on the waiting list and so on

My humble opinion ..... everyone needs to just relax a little bit and forget about it for awhile.
If you have an order in early .... then you'll get a set. If not .... well .... so be it.
Maybe I'll get mine or maybe not (Order #3319xxx) .... but I am moving on and enjoying all the other reasons why I chose to collect coins.
We'll see what happens with the Mint .... but IMHO all this energy about the LN6 set is somehow misplaced ...... remember why you are here.
Enjoy each other and learn ...... that's why we are here together.
That's my view on the energy I read ...
Best

David, While I do not know you, I would say your advice is a good call, on the other hand, I like many others here have been collecting for more than 45-Years and collecting coins and the knowledge that comes with it is a never ending story. I agree some of us have a huge energy level when it comes to a hobby you love and enjoy sharing with others, on that note, what do you collect, any thing special, or every thing and for how long, Mike... ..Some of us need more than intervention!

Perhaps I said it wrong morgans dad ..... please allow me to try again .... First ... I was so fired up with the energy from the CCF that I actually bought a set from the Mint .... my first ever Mint purchase. I enjoy and appreciate the energy we have here on this topic .... and in no way do I wish to throw a blanket on the party. That said .... what I was suggesting is that the deal is done and it's time to move on ..... Continuing to speculate about Order #33xxx versus Order #33xxx is just a waste of time and serves no purpose other than idle chat .... and I can get all I want of that on the net today. My suggestion (above) is to just wait and see what happens whenever the Mint ships the coins ..... and until then ... Stop Worrying about your Number and enjoy why you are here at the CCF with the Best Ever coin experts. That's my story .... and I'm sticking with it. David

David ... IMHO If your not interested .. or excited about the possibility of if you will or will not get one of the sets, that a many of us are wanting right now .. then why would you pick this post to read and respond to. It is hard to understand why you would ask everyone else to move on ...when you could just move on yourself? I bet this post will slow down some, then pick back up when people start getting their set in the mail. Getting sets like this is part of modern coin collecting
