David,

I in no way am suggesting any thing but we as a group( most of us ) are very excited about this topic and for that matter any other coin collecting, information, knowledge or events occurring now or at any future date.

You see some of us are very, very, passionate about this event and the hobby over all, please do not take this the wrong way( some times when things are written down and read they lose part or all of the original real meaning), that said, I do not feel you are "throwing a blanket on the party", simply, I did not think this was an upsetting topic or at a point where some are turned off by this "small talk", you see this is what some of us(me) do, we communicate the latest information about a hobby we have come to love and appreciate all the knowledge we can absorb. With all due respect, this is nothing, we can go on for months, and wait till the sets do start coming in, we like to know how the sets were(condition) and how many did so and so receive and so on.
Earlier you stated " enjoy why you are here at the CCF with the Best Ever coin experts."This is exactly what we are doing, did I miss something, I know many people here personally, they are some of the brightest, most knowledgeable, Numismatists I know and they did their home work to get there, that is simply what I am trying to do, become more knowledgeable about this hobby, all the info I can obtain, that includes the you S Mints system of doing things, .......

I would never of thought a forum about coin collecting, knowledge, information, experience, etc would frustrate some one......I do not know what to say....How about those Yankees!

and no worries here either, nickelsearcher (keep in mind some of us also have OCD, so the order number might be the LEAST of what is stressed-out about.. ha!)

You know what was really funny during ordering-time was the amount of "new post" email I was getting from CCF just on this one topic. I have *never* seen a topic blaze afire the way this one did! It was awesome

I believe many of the orders placed today, 10/16/2009, will go unfilled. It seems they took at least 60,000 orders before announcing the "sell-out" but that is no surprise given the levels of Customer Service the Mint has provided this year.

I realize they didn't want to stop at 50,000 because they knew some cancellations were inevitable but they went WAY too far before announcing the waiting list.

Oh well.....

do you think this set will hold a nice premium over the release price in the future? or do you think after a little while there will be a big drop in the price.

If anyone is contemplating ordering the Lincoln Coin and Chronicles set. You should do it now, even though there is a wait list, it doesn't mean that you won't get one. In the past two years I have placed a 5 orders for various products while they were on wait lists. Only one out of five got cancelled all the other orders were fulfilled. My advice is not to give up if you haven't ordered one.

Hope I get mine, but we will see. I wont be one of the ones on ebay bumping the prices, but I will be honest I got mine for the sole purpose to resell.

Future forecasting on the potential value of this Set is "impossible".....and we all certainly have high hopes that, being a rare 50,000 production Set, combined with the attractiveness of Lincoln, that this Set would be propelled to "astronomically high premiums".....
But I am also prepared for it to eventually level off to hold at a price of about $100.00.

From past experience, if you are checking your order status online and you can no longer cancel an item, then it means that your credit card has either been charged or will be charged shortly.

I noticed the shipping date changed today, hopefully it is only for the most recently placed orders and not the ones that were placed on Thursday.

eaglefoot, I completely agree with your prediction.

Although $100.00 will still give you around a $40.00 profit after you factor in the original shipping costs.
