Although I'm still saving up for the 16-D to complete my Mercury dime set and I'm still working on the SLQ's, I've been considering a 7070. It seems like a fun set, and it'll definitely keep me occupied. I'll probably buy slabs for the ones heavily counterfeited and the ones I don't really know about, and I'll try to learn about each coin series before I buy the coin. So do you think I should start one? |

Why not? You don't have to complete it in a year or anything like that. So when you can get a coin to fill a hole great, and when you can't for a while just let the folder be.

I've been working on my 7070 for a couple of years now. I don't feel in any hurry to complete it, but it gives me another focus at coin shows looking for a nice coin to fill a hole. |

I started mine a month ago and it is a lot of fun. Mine is going to be pretty slow though since I want semi-keys or keys for most of the coins. So far, the only ones of those I have are a 1973 silver Ike, the silver 1976S JFK bicentennial half and a 1949S Ben Franklin half and a 1909S Barber dime. |

I'm doing the exact opposite, since my budget would never allow me to go with semi-keys and keys. I want non-key dates so I can load up most of my album with attractive looking coins of AU+ quality, some of them will most certainly be toned. I hope to get most of the coins raw, I don't have the heart to break open slabs. |

I "finished" mine three years ago. Than I added the gold page, than I changed to all proofs for the moderns, and I am still upgrading the rest of it. Just won on Heritage a AU-50 1861 Half Dime and on ebay a 1831 Bust Dime in XF45, both coins upgrading examples in F-12. Just know going in that a 7070 may never be finished, but I can say there is nothing else in my collection that I am more proud of owning. Go for it - you will have a lot of fun. |

This is exactly what I have been doing. A high AU-MS only common date 7070. Just started mine in fact. Here are a few that I have photoed. Would love to see some photos of everyone elses!       |
