Evening Red & Kena, Thx for your posts and suggestions, I will try and answer all your points in order. Kena, no I'm not in need of the money. My current area of collecting is also a little rich for trades, no real appeal in that regard. As for your friends want list, I have 4 of them in front of me. Gave my kew gardens to a friend. I will put them to 1 side for you, maybe we can do something down the line. Red, that's an interesting error/flaw especially as its on a very modern coin. great spot.
Time to crack on with sorting through the tubs, if there are any dates that anyone needs just let me know and I will see if I've got 1 for you. that's all denominations !

Kena, I have just checked how many posts I need to start trading. I will probably fill another tub before I reach 250 posts ! Seems a little excessive to me, rather off putting than encouraging involvement. Shame because I have found some interesting pieces in the £1 tub & also what appears like a trial 2p piece. Red & Allthe2ps you might be interested in taking a look at the shield reverese £1 coins dating from 2010-2014, major edge flaws on most that I have picked out. I have also found a new 2008 2p that is missing the engravers initials & looks different under close scrutiny, maybe a trial piece ?

I normally don't look for or keep error coins.
I did find a 2012 Handover to Rio £2 coin today, so one of the two folks in Oz that the trade with will be happy.
The rules are there to prevent issues that happened before those rules were put in place and you are well on your way to reaching the magic numbers, especially the 50 posts side of things.

Sadly nothing special in the tubs, some I.O.M & Guernsey coins along with several euro cents. The only interesting find was this polish 20 groszy coin from 1923, never seen one before.

I've added two new £2 coins to my collection in the past four days!
On Saturday I got my first 2013 London Transport 'Roundel' £2 (I've had several of the Tube Train type).
Today I got my first 2014 Lord Kitchener World War I £2.
I haven't had a Trinity House £2, a Commonwealth Games 50p or either of the 2014 'floral' £1 coins yet.
Why isn't the Battle of Agincourt being honoured by a British coin in 2015? This was one of the greatest ever English military victories.

Oh wow, haven't had a sniff of a Kitchener £2 yet, or a Trinity for that matter. I do however have a couple of examples of the 2014 Irish Floral Series £1. I also have a few more 2014 error £1's... Just like my earlier ones, they're nothing spectacular, just another reminder of how the standards are slipping. There's a few of these, VERY weak strike on the queens head (Greased Die ?) VERY off-centre motto Slightly Off-Centre + a metal clip over the II pre-strike. and then there's this... Which I'm not entirely sure what to make of ? Clearly something has happened to this, but not entirely sure what. Any ideas ?

I've not seen an Irish £1 or WW1 £2 yet. I suspect the Scottish £1 and Trinity £2 are not out yet as no circulated versions of these have appeared on ebay (I've got a search set up for them). However today I got a 2002 English Commonwealth £2 in change! Happy days.

Picked up a few keepers through the past fortnight in my change. I got the Bill of rights from the self service at the supermarket, bonus The Dove came from my local paper shop, the owner kept it for me. I particularly like the Gibraltar 20p as it has a double stamp 2 and 9 in the date of 2009, plus the set of keys on the reverse is unusual.

Any ideas ? A very odd combination of accurate and the rough. I incline to think it had a cross error to start with and has had mechanical damage or a combination of mechanical and heat.

Today I got more coins from the lovely lady at the shop which included this 2014 trinity house £2 with lots of flaws/errors. Yes she has a dew drop ! There is also an error in the lettering on the edge, the 1st E in " serving " has been stamped over an R. Anyone found a £2 with this many flaws/errors ? I need to send it to RED for proper close ups.

Hi Ben I don't know how they would explain the poor quality of work on this coin, maybe one of the last of that particular die. I don't have the means for close ups yet so this is my best pics of the edge, E over R & the T in ( the ) looks like a 7 because the right serif is missing off the top bar. All together it adds up to this 1, die flaw on end of nose 2, doubling on chin/lips/nose & forehead 3, weak strike on hair and crown 4, extra metal on top and back of head 5, E over R in " SERVING " on edge 6, T of " THE " on edge wrong Hopefully its 1 of a kind but as they are new coins I am sure someone will produce another at some point soon.
