I'm with Bryan1315. I'd rather submit the coins myself. That way I feel more in control rather than relying on someone else.

I wouldn't submit any other coins through him. Unless I'm mistaken he didn't do this for free did he? When you pay someone for a service you expect it to be done in a timely manner. All he had to do was send the thing off in the mail. It doesn't take two weeks to do that.

He said it was the 15 day service, though he also said that in his experience they usually take more like 30. I do not expect him to try to pull a bait and switch since I was the one educating him about the differences between a 1917 and a 1916. You try to scam people who do not know what they are doing, not people who know more then you do. Still, I wish it would just get back to me. I think 2 months is a bit long.

Hey well, I submitted my coins on February 20 and haven't heard from my dealer yet. Apparently this is typical...

If I recall correctly, Badthad had a submission to NGC that dragged on for quite a while.

This wait is almost as painful as it would be if it were my own coin....lol. Well, I plan on sending mine to ANACS probably next week. Will probably pick the 5 day turnaround because I'm impatient||

he told you it was back, but he didn't say what the result was? Maybe he was too embarassed to admit he was wrong, eh?

Actually, he left a voice mail, so I did not have the chance to ask.

uh oh... I'm going to go have a second look at that dateless slq I found last week...

Update: OOOPS. Drat. Not an SLQ, my memory failed me - I have a dateless barber and a dateless seated. Since they are dateless I sorta wrote them off as unimportant, but now I'm thinking I might need to do a bit more research!

Second Update (maybe I should start a new thread):
Both of these are between P01 and FR02 - very tough to make anything out.
After review, the dateless seated is a rays, clearly then, 1853 - nothing special, but I learned something new. =)

I was about to discount the dateless Barber, as well, when I spotted an "S". I checked the diagnostics and it "seems" to pass, but it is so worn, I fear nothing can be told of it. I don't even know that it's worth posting pictures, however, given the possibilities, it might be prudent to have a pro look at it. =)

Final update:
After photographing and looking in extraordinary detail, I'm convinced that the barber is a 1903-S.

My apologies for semi-hijacking the thread - mods, feel free to delete if you see no value here, but my sincere thanks to everyone who posted on this thread for the education it provided me - about a number of topics!
