I went to the flea market this Saturday, checking out the small time coin dealers and looking for non-dealer coins. One of the regulars there had some blue Ikes... 2 of them. One was "normal" condition... This was the other! I could have either for the same price. Easy decision there! It went right into the Dansco, where you see it now. Friggin unbelieveable condition.

Nice find in flea market. I sometime company my wife to Flea market or swap meet. She love to see things, I got board. But if a vendor has coins, any coins, she can leave me there. It makes my day. Thanks to cell phone, we get together at the end of the day. Every body Happy.
Can somebody tell me what is Blue Ike, and the different between Blue Ike and Brown Ike?

blue ike comes in a blue envelope and soft cellophane type covering, brown ike comes in a brown box and a hard case if I understand the series correctly. I know I have had a few in the blue envelope before and as a matter of fact I think mine in my 7070 (not Bicentennial) was from a Blue envelope

Other than the namesake colorized packaging difference, Blue Ikes were Unc and brown Ikes were Proof.

Another important distinction is that the blue packs have uncirculated 40% silver dollars, while the brown boxes have proof 40% silver dollars. By the way, that is a great looking Eisenhower dollar! Edit: Bio beat me to it. I must remember to refresh before posting a reply when I get interrupted by a phone call!

That is a very very very nice looking Ike.
Is it ok to ask what the blue packs were selling for at flea markets. I just like to keep up on prices.

Thanks guys for explaining to me. I can't find this thread back sooner. I have to check it one by one. So, in that case, there are 3 set of Blue and brown Ike, 1971, 1972 and 1973 correct?
