A lot of folks don't seem to think much of the Territory Set.....but I am NOT one of them ! I like it ! I completed mine a few weeks back. I have it in the Dansco. It's got BU Business Strikes, Satin Finish-(extra page), Proof, and Silver Proof....... AND IT IS A BEAUTY !! VERY NICE SHORT SET TO COMPLETE IN MY OPINION !!

Very nice, Eaglefoot! Proofs, satin finish, and business strikes all in one album.

I like the set, too. And it had not occurred to me until this thread that if I bust up 2009 mint set, my set will be complete, too!
That would bring me to the clads and up.

Thanks guys ! .... Quote: And it had not occurred to me until this thread that if I bust up 2009 mint set, my set will be complete, too! Scooby ....... The HARDEST PART , by far, was acquiring the P & D - BU Business Strikes ! (Since they don't come in "Mint Sets" anymore !)

Very nice Eaglefoot! I have satins with proofs in one album and for the business strikes added a page to my State Quarter albums.

Quote: So, the one's in my mint set don't count? I'm still missing some (or more). Since 2005, the mint set coins are made with a special process and have a satin finish. That process is not the same one used for business strikes. This change messed things up for the many of the people that normally get their business strike coins from mint sets. Knowing that they are different bothers them. Of course, it is ultimately up to the individual. If all of your P&D coins have been taken from mint sets, then I see no reason not to continue that. However, if you are like me (and prefer to get all of your P&D coins from circulation), then using a mint set coin (because circulation finds are difficult these days) does not sit well. I find that the difference cannot be ignored. They are a different type, one that is "better" than a circulation strike, not quite as "good" as a proof. There are people that will collect all three types. Eaglefoot's DC/Territorial album is a nice example of that.

Yeah, tell me about it! I have never given mints sets much thought, since I had only every bought the mint set when necessary (For example, to get my 1973 P&D Eisenhower dollars, which were only available in mint sets.) I have found it increasingly difficult to find the current circulation strikes, especially the D mint coins. (For example, I finally found a 2003-D dime in September, 2008). I was seriously considering getting them from mint sets, until I learned of the difference.
