I just read this whole thread today...I'm surprised no one mentioned that it probably should have been in the Classic Coin section (where I'm usually snooping around). "Great" does not do justice to this find. More like "Fabtaculous"! Congrats!

Congrats, that is a nice find indeed. Sure beats the 1909 that I pulled from a roll last night that looks like it was glued to the end of a hammer.. that was depressing.

Quote: I'm surprised no one mentioned that it probably should have been in the Classic Coin section (where I'm usually snooping around). They did not because it does not. If you look at the forum headings, Lincoln Cents is listed under the "Modern US coins" forum. I do not make the rules, I just enforce them.

I think it should be a classic coin to, and I got into a semi-silly debate at one point about this.. , but it appears that you and I are the minority in thinking that the lincoln wheat should be considered a "classic" coin. Maybe some day they will all come to there senses.

Kriz, that is absolutely the find of a lifetime, and let me congratulate you on it.
And I thought I was doing well pulling a 1908-S Indian out of a lot of $1.75 IH cents I got at auction! Congratulations!

jbuck - that was an interesting thread you provided the link for. I'm glad you did, too, because I almost started up a new thread on that subject. Boy, would I have felt stoopid!

No, you would have been okay. Someone (probably moi) would have eventually pointed out the old thread for "additional information" on the subject. Actually, being a few months old, there is a good chance that thread will be archived soon, and therefore unable to take replies. So if you wanted to add your opinion, you would have had to start a new topic anyway.

Ehhh...I wouldn't have anything further to add that hasn't already been said by johnny54321 (and the other forces of light and good) so all I could do would be to stomp my feet and threaten to hold my breath until I turn blue if you don't see it my way.
