Yes! That's the trumpet tail varieties. How many have you look through before you get these?

Mercury dimes had three different mint mark punches used in 1945- Micro S, trumpet tail, and ball serif. There are also examples of the ball serif mint mark inverted(upside down).
Edit: wrong coin, I got Lincolns on the brain

The inverted ball serif S happened in cent production. I would like to see if there was a dime made with that year.

macmercury, I bought 2 rolls of mixed 40's and have just been going through them, those are the 2 I've found so far, I have a 3rd that is also a possibility, but the bottom of the S is worn off, the top does look the same.. first batch I have ever looked through

there were less than 20 total 45s in the batch

ok First thing. Photo 1 is of a 1944 s mint mark style and does not belong on a 45. Please check the date again and verify mint mark. If it checks out, you have a very rare coin in my belief. Secondly, your photos of the group also show more coins with the 44 s mint mark style. Again please check your coins and photos for accuracy. Thirdly, photo number two is certainly the Trumpet tail variety. Fourthly, the Inverted Knob tail style mint mark did occur on the 45 s dime, not just the cent. CONECA lists one such animal on their website.
