it's crap. I would pay 5 cents for this coin...study a coin collecting book so you don't have to ask others This is exactly the type of questions we strive for here at this Family coin forum. If you cannot handle a simple beginner question then I suggest finding another forum that tailors to you.

It's a worthy question--we're all here to ask and learn. The error guys might chime in about this "poor man's doubled die" It's been called that for years, and I recall it's just Die Deterioration?

I know of the big one but have not seen the others in person yet so was not sure. Isn't there 6 or 7 DDO's for the 1955 cent?

Yes indeed. coppercoins.com is a great reference for all the known varieties. http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php then put in 1955, check off Philadelphia, then Doubled Die Obverse, then submit search. He shows all the die markers, etc.

If you are referring to my opinion, I'm not seeing anything....but I can only see a grainy 955. I own a 55 DD and they are nice to look at as a prime example of an error coin

It's not the "big one" obviously but in fact, a "poor man's" double die which as stated, is explained very thoroughly at coppercoins.com The seller does state that in the title unlike some scammers on ebay.

I bought my 55 DD in 1969 for around $150 in EF after carrying golf bags every day, 18 holes for $8 all summer. I bought that coin along with an 1893S Morgan plus a few others. Those two coins really caught my attention for some reason. I'm sorry I can't show you a photo of the DD, I'm a dinosaur and am trying to find someone to help me post photos of my coins...Stay tuned...Thanks, Erik

As far as the original post, that listing is not a desired doubled die. And even though he states "poor man" in his title, his comments below it are leading and misleading.
"Recognized as a true sub type of the double die cent...it is a lesser type worth about 100 to 150 dollars".
Pfff! It's not even worth what he's charging for shipping.

If I could get $9.98 for these, I'd be rich by now. They are pretty common.
