I am a little confused.

I sent in this 1947 point to PCGS and they came back calling it a "1947 dot". 2011 Charlton variety is the 1947 pt 7 dot. This coin looks to me like a 47 pt and dot. Are all dots pointed 7's? Or is there a variety that is only "Dot".

it is one and the same. the dot was a die chip and has become the 4th type for the 1947 dollars.

That's what I thought but that just looks like a smudge... I've also looked at a bunch on ebay that list as 1947 dot but I can't see the dot on them either. Maybe it's just my old eyes...

This shows the location of the dot.
Not much bigger than a pinhead.
From the Charlton catalogue.

I see 3 potential dots in your photo. Anyone concur with my findings?
