Picked this up from a guy who was selling an inherited collection.It was marked as a regular 1/2 cent and graded good in the photos but the pics were so bad that I had no idea what I was going to get.Thought I would share it with the community before sending it off to ANACS with some other classics this week.Anyone care to make a guess as to what ANACS will give it as far as percentage off center? ANACS just says "off center", I'm not sure I've ever seen them give percentages off center on their slabs. FWIW, I say 6%. Amazing find by the way!

Nice Off-center, and this is also C-5 the 1809/6 overdate.

This is one of those OC'ers that is between 5% & 10%, it's like 7% OC. ANACS will probably call it 10% but I don't know for sure. Great find! Off Center early copper is tough!

Amazing how it went through so much circulation before someone just happen to put it in a collection without even noting that it was O.C.

Looking at the reverse I'd say 10%. It's really got a neat appearance on the reverse surface.
I'd let it soak in acetone for a few hours before submitting it. There may be some active verdigris on there.

Back then, I don't think people cared. It was just money. I have a couple Connecticut Colonials that are OC and double-struck with a fair amount of wear. swcoin.ecrater.com
