I found a 1943 steel cent, pretty bad shape. It was just laying on the machine

Found this in the CoinStar reject tray today. I guess it is a Challenge Coin or necklace ornament for one of those New Wave self-help hucksters. It is almost the exact size of a penny, looks like a regular hardware washer imprinted with the saying. It is probably steel (strongly magnetic).

Found my first silver since July 16 today. Went to the store in the middle of the afternoon. I usually go in the early AM and hadn't found much of anything. I may have to start going at odd hours if this keeps up. Silver: (I believe the scraped one is a '52D) Foreign and tokens: Interesting cents, heads only: In addition, since July 16, I've found common change adding up to $0.72, including two quarters. So that $0.72 plus $0.25 (face value on the silver dimes and 5 wheats) will go into my Salvation Army jar.

Is that an ancient? You are the luckiest person ever if it is.

Is that an ancient? You are the luckiest person ever if it is. Probably not. I suspected it was a copy and the experts around here seem to agree. https://goccf.com/t/267690 Still, it is interesting. The best find yesterday was probably the 500 yen coin. That thing is worth just under $5.00.

These were sitting in the reject slot in the coinstar machine at the grocery store today. No silver but I'll take $1.23 in free money anyday

Found a small handful of coins in the reject slot yesterday. About a buck and a half of routine Canadian spending money, plus these two. First Cuban coins I've encountered.
