That's neat. I guess people still empty old banks and jars of coins. A friend of mine found a 1944 Canadian silver dime and some other current US coins and unknowns

everytime we go to Walmart my 4yr old checks the coinstar. Our last trip she found 2 canadian dimes. We have a jar in the kitchen we put her finds in, so far there is about 2$ in change.

Found a few silver so far, best was a silver quarter, 1935 if I recall.

I found $1.52 plus a Canadian quarter today. Haven't posted to this thread since August, but I figured I might as well do a year end wrap-up, even though I usually require silver to post.

Total US coinage - since Aug 19, $5.13
including 8 quarters, 25 dimes, 4 nickles, and 43 cents. With:
6 wheaties (all common dates)
1 2009 birth place cent (tough to find in the wild)
10 copper Memorial cents and
26 zinc cents

Foreign coins:
2 Canadian toonies

2 Canadian quarters
A 1967 Canadian centennial penny and a 2006 penny
And this stuff:

And some more tokens:

PS: I put $13.58 into the Salvation Army kettle last week. Money I found - more than half in Coinstar machines. I now have a nice headstart on '17.

In the same Coinstar machine, I found a 1959 dime 2 days after finding a 1964 dime. I had been on a silver drought but my faith has been revitalized.
