I found four pennies yesterday. One Canadian, one LMC, and two LWC (1934 and 1936). I don't know why they were rejected but I'll take them.

This wasn't directly from the reject tray, but from the "Take-a-Penny" bin at the nearby courtesy desk. After I told them that the machine rejected steel cents, he took them and I thought he gave them to the cashier, to get a quarter back or something, but he put 18 wheats in the "Take-a-Penny" tray and eight of them were steel, plus a fine or very fine 1927.

I always check the garbage cans next to any coin sorting machine. Yesterdays mission was to dump $125 in zinc cents at my local credit union's self service coin counter. While the counter was plinking away, I checked the garbage and noticed a ton of Canadian change in the bottom of an otherwise empty can. Naturally, I grabbed it all but didn't really look at it until I got home. in addition to $2.53 in Canadian (3 pre-1981 nickels - yea!), also scored a 1964-d silver dime and 1943-s steel Wheat cent! Nothing beats scoring silver or wheats while at the dump bank!

Not Coinstar, I know, but when I went to my bank today to dump a bunch of nickels, I discovered that someone had nicely left me a handsome 1935D cent in the reject bin!
