My P01 1800 Large Cent is my eldest coin. I will see if I can get a discernible image posted soon.

I do have a CT Colonial and a Virginia HalfPenny but my oldest US Coin is this 1794 Large Cent. It's not a high grade, but it's all my budget could afford - and more importantly - I like it!

This slightly battered 1817 large cent has been my oldest US coin for many years. I got it in The Arches coin market that used to be located under Charing Cross Station in London - in an arcade that ran between Villiers Street and Northumberland Avenue. There used to be some huge rummage trays of coins for 3 pence each - I got a lot of additions to my collection there (including this one) in the 1970s and 1980s!

Here is obvious evidence that very worn coins can still have 'star' status in your collection!

1837 Head of 1838 Large Cent. Fine condition. I love that coin!

I have some old roman coins. don't know if they're relevant or not. But in terms of a US classic coin my oldest is an 1857 Flying Eagle cent, somehow passed through my family.

1798 Large cent, type II. Was thrilled when I finally obtained an 18th Century US coin!
