za75 - First, the coin has to become popular, and recognized by Charlton in order for it to maintain its value. I have little doubt that this will happen, but it's still a risk associated with the coin. I think that there are probably 40 of these in collections today marked as "far 2" (i.e. 40 that people know of). You've collected data on 3000 of these coins. I suspect that's barely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how many of these are still out there. I think in the end, there will be about 300 - 500 of these that surface. I don't have a population report to go off of to make comparisons. I was comparing it to the 1906 Small Crown, of which there are about 50 known. A typical Small Crown is in G-4 condition and sells for a bit over $1000. A typical 1932 Far 2 is in F-VF condition, so at the same rarity, would also be worth $1000 (or so). I think that there are closer to 10 times as many Far 2s that exist, so I think it should be worth a bit more than 1/10th the value of a Small Crown, and hence a bit over $100.
These are my assumptions. They are far from perfect, but I can't justify a $400 price tag in my mind. Someone who has different assumptions will reach a different value.

jq86 - I respect your opinion ! But, you know like me that, in the end of 2012, with regards to the variety 5 cents 1926 Far, 1700 certified pieces exist ( only half a dozen of 5 cents 1932 are certified to-day, and about 30 coins of this variety were repertoried since 2009 ).
For some collectors, including nickelsguy, CCCS, me and some others serious collectors, we think that the 5 cents 1932 Far 2 is twice or much more rarest than the 5 cents 1926 Far 6 : so, I am not surprised to see the price at $400 or more for a Far 2 F-15.
I think that we are now at the beginning of the life of this very interesting variety.

As I mentioned, I did not have a population report available to look into this. The 1926 Far 6 would have been the first coin I compared populations to. I'm stunned that there are 1700 Far 6s and that they command the premium that they do.
We still need to get a feel for the population of 1932 far 2s. If I was buying one, it would worry me that someone (perhaps yourself, although I'm not implying that) has been secretly acquiring these for years, and may have 100 or more sitting around.
I do agree that it's a neat variety, and will be worth something one day, I'd rather just get my $400 and get out! Plus I'm eyeing up a very nice coin right now, and selling these will definitely help me pay for it!

@jg76: How could you possibly have known it would get to $400? Another has gone up for auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1932-Canadi...em2c6af7f083. And, again, the bidder who bought Bm0ney's is bidding in the auction, as they did for the other three. So, that's FOUR available in a period of a few weeks (the latest being the lowest grade so far). @za75: At least two are know here. How about the other two?

Not sure if info is still being collected on these. I haven't been following the topic religiously and don't want to read all 18 pages right now... however; I just had a look and I have two, near "2"'s.

I'm curious which of the recent auctions are part of za75's survey, and which are new examples.

I suspected it would get $400 based on the last one, and messages I had received. One of mine is included in za75's data.
The one that ends tonight will go for more. I don't know who either of the two 0 feedbacks are, but I've had others message me offering more, and I suspect they will place last minute bids like last time.

- @steve123 : thank you for your data : two new " Near 2 " - @dialog_gvf : You say : " I'm curious which of the recent auctions are part of za75's survey, and which are new examples. " I think that on the five auctions, in december, on ebay, only two are part of my survey. To join a Far 2 to this survey, I should obtain the total of 5 cents 1932 that were seen by a member ( number of Near 2 and number of Far 2 ). The intention is to make out a trend and not the total of Far 2 that exist. - @ all members : with the steve123's data ( 2 Near 2 ) and the data obtained from numicanada.com ( 45 Near 2 ) the trend is now : 28/3068 = 0.91 % for the variety Far 2.

@ dialog_gvf - You say : " Not only zero feedback, but first bids. " Probably that this indicate the interest's increase for the Far 2
