Hope we both get it Rawmeat (and anyone else that's going to try through them).
Order for the 2010-ATB Hot Springs(NP1) is still "processing" for me according to the USMINT hotline. Anyone get any other updates?

If the ATB is anything like the direct ship coins, it will be "on hold" or "processing" randomly for a while, until one night around 11PM you'll get an e-mail that said you package just shipped and then when you get to work in the morning, it will be sitting on your chair.

I got a call from Prudential on Friday. They advised my paperwork was in order and I will be hearing from their shipping company in a few weeks. Like everyone has said, it was a pain ordering from them. However, I too am able to wait and in the end I am happy to pay less for the coins.

Also, I didn't see this anywhere on the site, but the dude I talked to at Prudential said that they are also required to run a background check before they sell these coins to us.
I mean, I guess it's pretty annoying that they have all these hoops, but lots of places have stupid hoops (especially financial places), I just really hate it when they lie to me about how "the govt" or "the laws" require them to do this stuff. Don't pass the buck, just tell me what you want me to do, without lying to me, and let me decide if it is worth it.

I overnighted my paperwork to Prudential on Friday. How long did it take for you guys to hear that they got your stuff and it's in the works?

Mine was put in regular mail on Saturday Morning, and I've not heard anything yet. I presume yours will get their first. Sounds like Rsx mailed sometime Friday.

I mailed it on a Wednesday morning (two weeks ago) and I got a phone message last Friday. However, I understand from speaking with the guy at Prudential that they have a lot of paperwork coming in and only two people working on the applications. Also, make sure to dot your I's and cross your T's. They are kicking back over 20% of the applications due to defects (missing info, missing signatures etc.) according to the guy I talked to.

Just got this email this morning from Jack Hunt: Quote: Dear ATB Customer, This week the United States Mint is releasing the first two of the 2011 America the Beautiful 5oz silver bullion coins. The coins being released are Gettysburg National Military Park and Glacier National Park. We have had many requests to provide these new Mint offerings. Unfortunately, Jack Hunt Coin Broker, Inc. will not be selling these coins directly to the public. If you would like to purchase 2011 America the Beautiful 5oz silver bullion coins we recommend Gainesville Coins @ https://www.gainesvillecoins.com or call them at 813-482-9300. We appreciate the opportunity to have served you and we are confident that Gainesville Coins will be able to meet your future America the Beautiful coin series needs. Sincerely, JACK HUNT COIN BROKER INC. America the Beautiful - P.O. Box 4189 - Kenmore NY 14217 It serves as a reminder that as much as the buying public had to jump through hoops to get at the 2010 coins, the APs with the exception of APMEX, were not equipped to sell one coin at a time, and typically they don't deal with the public but other resellers with large quantity orders. The Mint's restrictions forced the APs to apply some draconian measures to get the coins out according to their dictates, setting up a no-win situation for the Mint or the APs. The fact that most got equitably distributed efficiently is a win for the collecting community. It seemed that waiting paid off, as the later coins were every bit as nice as the initial releases. Not the proudest moment in the history of the Mint, but they did get these coins struck, packaged and delivered to the APs within the corresponding year, and created a modern rarity in the process.

Took the plunge with A-Mark Precious Metals tonight. $649 delivered (outside CA) for both pieces in PCGS Choice BU First Strike slabs. No ordering limits.
"2011 America the Beautiful 5 oz Silver- Set of 2 The set consists of coins representing the following National Parks: Gettysburg National Military Park (PA), Glacier National Park (MT) $629.99"
I bought one of the 2010 sets from A-Mark and was happy with the quality and service.

I didn't get a 2010 set from A-Mark, and $629.99 seems to be quite a substantial mark up from what other bullion dealers are charging for the Getty/Glacier pair, even though they come preslabbed by PCGS, most likely as " First Strike." What I didn't grasp with the A-Mark sets was the descriptive grade (Choice & Gem BU) versus the numerical grade if a collector wanted it regraded later along with DMPL, PL, designations, etc. Was the submission tier at PCGS cheaper because it had been "graded" before, or was it treated as if it were a fresh raw coin? It just seems like a case of double dipping on the part of the TPG, when a collector would rather have a numerical grade to begin with (particularly if it were numerically higher than Choice or Gem BU or deeply prooflike, particularly important for reselling.)

Yes, $629 for the A-Mark coins is higher than most. The Choice BU grade just means MS63 minimum. These coins have not really been graded but are attributed "First Strike" which would cost $36 for the 2 pieces if submitted raw. My first set (2010s) from A-Mark were excellent pieces which I did re-submit to PCGS - technically as raw but with the F.S. designation paid for. I got 3 69s, 1 68, and 1 67 grade. 2 of the 69s were PL and the 68 and 67 were DMPL. If you do not plan to have these graded, I'd just buy a raw set from APMEX. You save $89 if paying by check, M.O. or bank wire and get the same coins minus the slabs.

I don't have a problem with TPG offering a protective container service, with no grade. This choice and gem bu nonsense is nothing but confusion, where the coins have to be sent back for a "real" grade. They were already at the slobbing service, why should buyers have to throw away an alleged $30 holder and start over, not to mention shipping costs in both directions?
