Sorry, a bit late to the party. Hope you don't mind jumping back a few years...here is my 1827 large cent. Found it in a 1/2 off bin at a coin show. Didn't see the scratches till I got home.   Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

That coin has nice detail b twill, too bad about the scratches   Here is my 1850. Not sure what's going on with the obverse  Looks PMD.

twill- invest a nickel in a new holder. any time you have a tear like that, you can get tarnish on that spot, making an uneven and ugly overall color.

vt -- looks like bad alloy that deteriorated in the ground, then was cleaned.

March 16 means it's 1851. Biggfredd - Just gave it a new home, took some time to go get a holder for it.
Vermontensium - I was rather bummed to see those scratches, but over all happy since it was in the half off bin!
