I have this Morgan & after reading Cherrypickers it seems this might be a kind of rare specimen. Please offer your insights and comments as I know little compared you most of you experts.

The Observe has apparent dies cracks all around the rim/lettering, more than are described in cherry pickers. The reverse also has apparent dies cracks 9more difficult to see in pics & fainter especially by dollar).

Thanks - pics added, as best as I could photograph with my limited camera options.

I do not know, but I moved your post to the dedicated Peace and Morgan dollar VAM forum. Hopefully it will get more attention from those experts.

Srjmrj, it is my tenderfoot opinion that you may have something that is yet unknown..... I do recognize the obverse as VAM 1AR (I used to own one), but the reverse is not the same..... check it out....

Zee, I think VAM 1AR is a good call. I was going to post the same earlier however, it was about five minutes after the gentleman had posted, never mind.

It is hard to see the die break on the reverse.

The only 1921-D I know when I see it right off the bat is the VAM-1X and that is just because SD has made such a big deal about it and it got my attention when others have brought it up also. If someone on here posts one of those I will definitely be able to tell them what they have and will tell them to keep their address a secret because SD would be stalking him, any other 1921 I am as lost as anyone could be

let me reccomend an excellent resource guide for you if you can find it. It is excellent reading and very enjoyable.

Fun With 1921, Denver Morgan dollars with Die Breaks, Die Gouges and Filled Dies, by Rob Joyce.
A detailed study of the die varieties produced at the Denver mint in 1921. Currently out of print.

Rob Joyce is an admin there on VAM World. His comments about the book is that VAMworld information is more current.

I have cleaned up this thread so we can start over. I have zero doubt that is was just an "attitude misinterpretation" by a lot of people including myself. Let's try again.

Nice job OZ I am confident of your skills and your keen sense of seeing things in a "unique" Light, compared to myself and others,I too appreciate the effort given to assist and grow the knowledge base for the hobby .......PS I love some clear sweet, defined cracks and breaks, and over all the 21 series IMO, takes the cake.!!
