I have searched through 30k pennies and haven't found this variety, obviously it is extremely rare.

Thasnks for the compassion littlemoney. Yes life will go on,I will pick up the pieces and move on! There cannot be that many more of these kicking around out there as most of the 233,000thousand 2006P pennies have been sifted through by collectors.

I also check 20 boxes of 1 cent coins and never seen one.A few 2006P magnetic however I am starting to think of an inside job as all the ones certified todate are all MS without exception.

darryldarryl - I win closest price only $23.99 under, darn if I can just guess the winning Lotto numbers that good.... I would buy your MS65 for $1555. did you ever ask your seller & know where your raw MS65 was found, set or roll?

cdcoinman, I totally agree, these 2006P Non-magnetic are an inside job or 'someone' just happen to find the only existing entire roll of these because as you say, all the ones certified todate are all MS64-67 & most are MS66 MS64 - 17; MS65 - 21; MS66 - 33; MS67 - 2 with all these high grades; these coins went right from a roll or lot of sets to ICCS. for 2006p only 233,000 coins made; does this number include coins in RCM sets too?

Actually, I have been watching the ICCS pop reports and the numbers were climbing slowly each year. Its not as if someone went in and dropped them all off at once.

I see no one "manned up" to win the coin ;)

I think that this coin is still not well enough understood for anyone to pay up because they still don't know if the population is 73 and staying at 73 or 73 on the way to 7300. Either is possible. I think it will take a few more years to know for sure. That being said, I suspect that the buyer is feeling pretty pleased right now though. I suspect there is no buyers remorse from r***9. My 1430 was a little high but I was counting on a last minute sniper......

Which year did the ICCS pop reports show the biggest jump in numbers? Where there many graded in 2006-2007? Or did people just notice them as rare in past few years? I think pop will stay under 100 for long time to come.

Excellent question Penny4Me, I was just wondering the same thing :-)
According to ICCS, these are the numbers... 2009 = 2, 2010 = 43, 2011 = 73, 2012 = ?
hmmm ...I wonder what will happen next year
