while looking through change I found an odd dime from 2002 with little to no beads on the obverse which is quite strange for a Canadian coin. I was wondering could this possibly be an error?

there are some faint beads on the upper left had corner but the rest of the rim is beadless with a few blotches of the metal.

the green line shows where some faint beads are and the red circles show where the blotches are
can anyone explain this to me or tell if its an error created in the dieing process?

Those 'blotches' look like die chips...
Interesting dime!

I believe that it's a "dryer dime" the outer edge gets caught between the rolling rim of a dryer and the outer drum and turns the outer edge in toward the center basically obliterating the edge and covering the beads/denticles as the metal rolls up.

Edit, I'm assuming but I can't see the coin edge... is it rounded? In any case, it's post mint damage imo.

If you search "dryer dime" "dryer quarter" and so on you will find threads here discussing this particular damage.

It's just Struck Through Grease, no extra value.

Another option is coin roller damage. There appears to be a "ring" just inside the line of beads. The beads may have been sheared off.
