Went to a yard sale today , picked up 18 ASEs that are mostly from '86 through '92. All are high MS condition (I also bought several PCGS MS69 coins from the same seller) to compare them to. They look to be no less than MS69 with a few IMO having a shot at MS70 (Even though I know that's somewhat unlikely just looking at the percentage of coins that make MS70).

So my question is - Would it be worth it to send them in? I paid spot from all of them. However looking at what MS69s are going for right now isn't too impressive. Numismedia says a few MS69s are worth a decent bit over spot, but I'm worried about grading all 18. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Well find out how much it would cost to send them to get graded, and if the price is right, do it! Or you could pick out the best ones and see how they do, and then decide if you should send the rest

It only costs $14 from both NGC and PCGS to grade modern stuff (plus shipping) so the risk is not that great. Pick out the ones with NO surface or rim marks and go for it.
I have received quite a few 70's from NGC which were sold for a nice profit

That's good to hear Fox , I've heard from a few people that PCGS just doesn't grade MS70s anymore, so NGC was my thought.

Now granted I'm a pretty new numismitist, I keep getting worried I might not be seeing things right. From this big collection of ASEs I bought (25 to be exact) 6 were graded MS69 by PCGS. Carefully looking over the front & rear or each coin, I can see where impefections are. Each one has a small scratch/mark/ect that I could easily see preventing it from being MS70. However with at least 3 of the proof coins I have, I would venture to say they have no marks or scratches keeping them from being perfect.

Now here's another question - What's a good place to look up raw/ungraded prices on various ASE coins? I use numismedia all the time, but is it accurate on estimations? I saw a coin on ebay sell the other day a bit under what it was worth on numismedia, and I always was under the assumption numismedia was extremely accurate on graded coins.
