Well, I would therefore like to officially be the first person on this board to report that my 5 sets have, in fact, shipped!

Yep, I'd sure like to be able to report that...

This time, since all sets will be going out via UPS with a signature requirement, it does make some sense to keep a look out for the tracking number and see when your set(s) ship. Once UPS has the package, it will arrive the next business day and if no one is there to sign, they will leave a note. If that happens, call your local UPS and make suitable delivery arrangements. I have the amazing luck that causes an unusual percentage of my orders ship on Friday making overnight take all weekend. Hopefully this record is building some karma points that I can use on something truly meaningful, like parking spaces over the holidays. This event has been a lot of fun, both to participate in and to simply observe. I think there will still be a fair amount of traffic as we get our sets, open some and publish pics, send some in for grading and announce the results, and watch or profit from the secondary market. For the small flippers, the big guys are going to be doing a lot of free advertising for you and there is no reason not to take advantage of it. It's too bad that PCGS charges individuals so much for First Strike labels (basically doubling the cost of grading), both because they don't mean much really, and because they almost certainly give bulk submitters a significant discount on the product. I am very interested in seeing how many coins achieve MS/PR70 and especially how many of the bullion coins in the sets get the grade. I really think I might wait to open even one set until I find out if that coin will be the key to "perfect" set building (since it has to come from a sealed set to qualify).

"Micheal from 'Bama" on another board reports order #383245XX placed at 12:01 is showing shipped, with a tracking number that is not yet recognized by UPS ao they are trying their best to honor FIFO and the first sets should arrive in customer's hands tomorrow morning.

mccam36525, How is it shipping via USPS? Was that shipping specially requested on a phone order? It can take over a week to get a mint order shipped through the FedEx/USPS channel but the actual time varies a lot by location.

I see 1 seller is guaranteeing a full set of MS/PF70's of the 25th Anniversary set for a mere $3,950(plus of minus a few bucks--it was in a CoinWorld magazine article Monday)..anyway, they said the set would be EITHER NGC, or PCGS...so, if the big shops can command these figures with EITHER company, then, I'll probably use NGC for my grading services, as it will be half what PCGS charges..if I am correct, that is roughly 120 for NGC, and, 210 for PCGS....thats about a 500 dollar difference in my pocket...any of us up to date on TPG's know that ANACS has been Right on the money grading Eisenhower dollars recently, after years of "figuring" an Anacs IKE would roughly grade at least 1, maybe 2 grades lower at PCGS, so, why are they left out of the mix? They charge NO membership fees.(As a side note, to those who may not know, as a member of the ANA, you can use NGC WITHOUT paying a membership fee..all you have to do is fillout a few forms, and, walla, you can use NGC for all coin submissions..it's a great benifit of being an ANA Member, besides, the Monthly Magazine is awesome, plus, all their online advantages makes joining a good deal.) Refresh my memory, did someone say in this thread that roughly HALF of the coins will grade 69, and, HALF 70? That seems a bit optimistic...?

Boy, I sure hope that PCGS straightens out its coin numbering before the coins start coming in for grading (day after tomorrow?). Whoever entered the new coins into their system wasn't paying much attention to detail. They show three MS coins in regular & FS for the anniversary set but the coins listed are: 2011, 2011-S, and 2011-(W). They got one right, it should be: 2011-S, 2011-W, and 2011-(S). In the proof listings: 2011-W and 2011-W(FS) (both with 25h set labels and without), but they show three types of reverse proofs: 2011-P and 2011-P(FS) with the anniversary set label but also a 2011-P without the anniversary set designation. Looks like internal communication at PCGS is as good as it is at the mint.
mccam36525, thanks for that info. It would be nice if the mint allowed for such special instructions to be entered over the internet. If your mom has a large enough mailbox, USPS should deliver it directly. My larger FedEx/USPS shipments from the mint are left in one of the package boxes at the mailbox kiosk near my house (key is left in letter box), FedEx/USPS shipments don't normally require a signature. In the future, you can go ahead and let UPS deliver and once you get a tracking number contact them and make special delivery arrangements. If you catch them before it is out on a truck for delivery, you could probably pick it up that day or the day after at your local UPS. The FedEx/USPS route always takes extra time because of the extra hand off between the two carriers.

I am wondering if you only paid standard $4.95 shipping if the mint upgraded to expedited? The link on the order page Note: Even if standard shipping is selected, your order will be sent expedited if it qualifies for a complimentary upgrade. Quote: Orders with Merchandise valued at $300 or more with a standard delivery option chosen will receive a complimentary upgrade to Expedited Shipping (not including International or Circulating $1 Coin Direct Ship orders). Gift Wrap and Shipping and Handling charges are not considered part of the Merchandise total. Since these were under $300.00 I guess they COULD say it did not meet the criteria for Expedited Shipping? For anyone who has their order on the way does it say Expedited Shipping even if you only paid regular shipping?

They are still shipping the 5oz AtB-Ps via UPS and they are only $229 now and were $279 originally, neither of which technically qualifies for next day service. With a single set only a nickel under the published limit they would take more grief than it is worth to cheap out on these sets. It would also be a hassle to separate out the single set orders for FedEx/UPSP shipment and I since that method goes without a signature requirement, I don't think they would do it unless you specifically asked for it.
I will confirm which way single sets are going as soon as I get a tracking number.

Ok thank you clairhardesty... I ordered just one of the 5oz ATB Coins, the 1st one, (Can't afford to complete that set) I DID pay the expedited shipping charge on that item, then found out later that they upgraded to expedited to everyone even if they only chose standard shipping, but I guess it does make sense that they WILL upgrade everyone to expedited if you only ordered 1 of these sets....
