FWMan, I bet if you ask ANACS lawyer he/she would tell you that it is two separate phrases (one is all caps and one isn't) unless they really want to get sued. It looks to me like they meant for it to be interpreted both ways so people would read what they wanted to see but they can argue that that isn't what they meant. The PCGS labels say "25th ANNIVERSARY SET" on one line just like the NGC labels do.

if I were you I would buy the missing pr70 reverse on ebay to have 2 perfect setsfor a 4000 dollar profit
sell the 69 to lower the cost and bingo to perfect sets

gets me happy because I am going to send my 2 sets to ngc later on
i am betting these only go up in value and I only like the brown label ngc coins

Well then they are idiots since their published statement says EXACTLY what they meant (and it IS what the label says)

From Paul DeFelice VP Customer relations ANACS:
"We welcome the sets, but do not require the boxes. We will call the 5 coins 25th Anniversary SET if all are submitted together. You can submit these on the Modern Service for the best price ($10)

Really, do you actually think someone would sue ANACS because they used two lines on a label instead of one? They are following THEIR policy..if you don't agree..don't submit to them..

I would agree to try and buy a PR70 RP to complete your two perfect sets OR keep the perfect set and sell the 4 70's and 1 69 separately and you will recoup all your investment AND have a perfect set to hold on to.

I'm leaning toward the latter..no additional outlay of cash :)

Foxwoods,

First, let me say the results are more than I could have ever expected.
My plan right now is:
I have a 2006 20th ann 70 set to go with the 2011.
I also have a 2006 rev prf 69 that I may bundle with the 2011 rev prf 69.
I think having an extra S mint 70 will pay off down the road.

The other 3 70s will be needed by the people that have opened their boxes and can only grade the S mint and Rev Prf. I will hold those and wait.

I also have an unopened single set I was waiting to see if I needed to send in to complete a set. Now I will be able to open it and enjoy the beauty of the coins while I await the graded coins.

JohnDean that is perfect...I have two perfect 20th sets left that are in a nice cherry wood presentation box. I would love to have them mate with two perfect 25th sets in their Blue presentation box.

You seem to have a great plan and I wish you the best...perfect scenario

I have to ask...when did your sets get received by NGC and did you use just Modern Special?

Good luck Foxwoods, my guess is the 5 sets will take a little longer, probably next week. Hopefully the trend of 70s continues.
I just received my USPS Registered shipping notice!

FWMan, I think someone might sue them if they had used only one line because if they had said "25th Anniversary Set" on the label that might not be true. By using the wording they did, they can appear to imply that the coins are from a mint set without actually saying it. They use the same wording on their HSN labels but add the First Day of Issue tag which to me locks them into only using coins that were issued as part of the sets (or lying). My point is that to refer to the coins as being from the 25th anniversary set if is is even possible that some of the coins are not then they are being deceptive at best and I would consider such an act to be wrong, something that I wouldn't do since honesty is part of my contract as a member of the ANA and I consider deception to be dishonest. By requiring sets to be sent in mint sealed packages, PCGS and NGC are free to clearly state that the coins are from 25th anniversary sets and they have chosen to label coins that might not be from the sets as simply "25th anniversary" coins, which they are. ANACS current wording can be read either way and is therefore generic enough to satisfy their lawyers (and me as well).

I sincerely hope the orders still "In Process" and "Backordered" will eventually go "in stock, reserved"...and then shipped. Time will tell.

Will be a LONG weekend. :)

I'm still waiting to hear about 38384xxx. It's not been just a long weekend, it's been very long couple of weeks waiting to hear one way or the other. It seems
the mint is taking a very long time completing shipments for the people who ordered late in the day. I'd like to get an answer one way of the other. I don't want to purchase a set if I might still get some at the mint price.

I got all excited about a mint email earlier in the week, but it was a confirmation for one of my subscription orders.

BTW, I have not heard back from the Director of the Mint yet, but I'm not holding my breath for an answer from the Director.

Ray
