WOW! This is nothing more than "post production damage" to the maximum. Junk like this needs to be banned from E-bay. There are just too many "red flags" to mention. Two mirrored strikes on an unplated out of round planchet; give me a break and that is just on one side of the coin. Someone just has to much time on their hands and has taken to the garage to work out their frustrations.

NO REFUND (LOL), which is the biggest "red flag". And someone has bid on it?

At best I was thinking an early stage die cap which can leave a reverse image on the obverse I think but the double strike was telling me no way.Don't worry I have enough cents not to bid on something like this.too many red flags on this one.

"As thin as foil"? Maybe because it is foil?

Really? His claims start with the word "rare".
We got an expert opinion; that settles it.

I agree with LTMets44. "When I took it out it was like tin foil" pretty much says it all. I can't believe how high the bidding has gotten on this.

I've got a roll of aluminum foil and a boatload of pennies. Maybe this is my ticket to fame and fortune!

This is a genuine error. It is the detached bottom of a late-stage die cap. The copper plating on the working (reverse) face was worn away from striking numerous planchets. The cap, or cap bottom, shifted a few times between the final few strikes. That's why you see multiple images.
