Just two weeks ago, I bought two 5 lb bags of coins, (each containing right at 500 coins). Each 5 lb bag was $39.59 - making the total cost of every coin about 8 cents apiece! I got coins from about 80 different countries, in those 2 five pound bags! A real blast to go thru! Report this Post to the Staff

Did that include shipping because that is what I see as being a real drag for the price per common coin. I love these grab bags and I never get any silver but I can add sometimes 100 coins to my collection. However, when you only get 100 coins from $40 plus shipping it is a lot more than just 8 cents a piece - more like 45 cents which in most cases in more than the catalog value of the coin but I still do it because I can get more types added to my collection. My problem now is that all of these grab bags seemingly come from a single source so the chances of adding anything after the first couple of bags gets slimmer I think Report this Post to the Staff

There were about a dozen culls, in each bag, and no silver coins. About 20% of the coins were older than 1950. Checking my newly purchased Krause manual - I found lots of coins with value listings of .25 or higher, and even some $1.00 - $3.00 coins. (one lot had a 1905 Liberty head nickel in it!
