Thanks SD. I saw that Hudson a while ago ... definitely circulated ... but alas the surfaces have been heavily tampered with. The Bay Bridge would be a slight downgrade for me ... but not enough of a step down to justify the cost. Appreciate the support of your 'eyes'. David

Congrats on the productive ANA Show! Glad to hear of (and see!) your bourse floor successes! I predict you'll have your circulated set completed within the next six months. I know you have a few tough ones left to find, but I think there's light at the end of the tunnel (and it's not a train!). I'll be keeping my eyes open for you!

I appreciate commems your confidence in my forthcoming possibility of completing V1.0 of this fabulous set. Six months you say ... I hope so. The challenge with this set is market availability ... and the task at hand as a collector is to connect with the few coins available out there somewhere. My friends at the CCF have been tremendous in that regard ... many of the coins in my set have been found by your 'eyes' looking out for me. Many Thanks to all of you for the valued support in my quest. Every coin show I attend is an opportunity ... many of the dealers have become friends in this pursuit and often add a joking comment as I sit at their table ... "Sorry David ... melted them all". I have my 'want list' in the hands of over 20 dealers ... and am doing everything I can short of an National magazine advertisement to publicize my interest in these coins. Looking back at my records I purchased my initial circulated commemorative in April 2009 ... the very same AG03 Columbian that I have in my set now. Now at 3+ years later ... I remain thrilled and fascinated by these coins in honest circulated condition ... coins that were not meant to circulate. This might be a lifetime collecting pursuit for me ... and a very happy collecting place to be. I extend to all of you ... CCF friends ... my very best personal Thanks for your support of my pursuit ... and your kind patience to read and reply to all of these pages. Best David

Agreed that second Lafayette is impressive with lovely circulated cameo surfaces.
I grade VF30 ... not a coin I need for my set ... but a truly nice example for any fan of circulated classic silver commemorative.
Thanks HONDO for the 'eyes'.

Pleased to share two recent downgrades for my set ... VF20 (my grade) Iowa ... ebay purchase that HONDO made me aware of. This is a very difficult coin to find in low circulated condition. This example has some surface difficulties ... notably the significant scratches on the reverse. It is genuine and honestly circulated ... just as I like them. XF40 (my grade) Lynchburg ... took a drive to a local dealer who kindly had set this coin aside for me ... what a joy having many folks keeping an eye out for my set! There are a total of one (1) Lynchburg certified below AU by PCGS ... and as such this coin is a 'stopper' for anyone trying to assemble a circulated set below AU. Honest surfaces ... a minor rim bump at 3am on the reverse ... great find and pleased to have it in my set. My personal Thanks again to all the kind folks who are helping keep an eye out for me. David

Sweeeeeeeeet!
Congratulations on two beautiful, history filled coins!
The sellers pics made those reverse scratches look a little more dramatic... Based on your photos, the scratches are minor and fit nicely with the rest of the coin. They don't distract at all for me...
That Lynchburg is great. You have one heck of a nice dealer to look out for you!
Congratulations again! Two fantastic downgrades to an already beautiful collection.

Since I live right on the Old Spanish Trail (the real part anyway) I ought to be able to dig one up for you don't you think David? I've been sidetracked of late working on a high end set of Liberty (V) Nickels. It's a toughie!! Do have an Isabella on the way however. Have found quite a source who is selling her Dad's collection (retired Chicago policeman)..... we know that those fellows made good money!
