Quote: I don't think I could work on a set mimicking your approach of "as low as I can go" No worries ... the great fun of any numismatic adventure is chasing your own goals and dreams ... in the particular case of this set I humbly admit that I am enjoying every day of the chase ... although not sure I can ever complete it. Pleased to share with you my latest addition ... 1936 York County Tercentenary Half ... I grade an honestly circulated XF45 ... tough coin in circulated grade ... PCGS has certified 1 coin in lower grade. Now at 7 holes in my circulated set. Appreciate all the help I have received from many of you in this pursuit. David

That's a nice looking York and a tougher one to find in circ than most people think.

Good to see you have found another. Did the Missouri come through?

Pleased to share with you my latest downgrade to the set ... a lovely, honestly circulated 1921 Missouri Centennial Half Dollar. I grade this Robert Aitken designed coin at VG08. Thanks to muddler for his 'eyes' to help me find this coin ... much appreciated. There are many great joys to be had pursuing this tough set ... best of which is the pleasure I get holding in my hands these circulated examples of rare coins ... while wondering what stories they could tell from MS to today. Still have 7 holes ... and I may never complete the set ... so appreciate all of you keeping your eyes open for me. My Watch List is current ... https://goccf.com/t/108658&whichpage=1Enjoy David

At the rate you are acquiring these, I can see you completing your downgrade set in a couple of years, maybe. Send me a MS example and I'll keep it in my pocket for a few years .

I'm going to guess that your Missouri would go between an VG08 or VG10. There is still a lot of eye socket left on all 3 of the figures. My G06 has none left and my NGC FR2 is just pretty worn off. The edge lettering holds up pretty good on any of these low grade Missouris. Just look how sharp it looks in your photos compared to the rest of the wear.

Quote: I'm going to guess that your Missouri would go between an VG08 or VG10 Appreciate that feedback Not Mint to Be ... I consider you to be uniquely qualified to offer those estimates ... I'm going to label this one VG10 in my records. Still willing to help you with some photos. Quote: At the rate you are acquiring these, I can see you completing your downgrade set in a couple of years Maybe ... I hope so. The greatest numismatic challenge for this set is market availability ... many of these coins just did not get spent at face value ... a clear requirement for 'circulated' grade. Truly ... I am proud of my complete MS type set ... but at the end of the day all those coins are available with some searching to meet personal standards to anyone willing to write a large enough check. This circulated set ... on the other hand ... was never intended to be. Some coins are readily available ... you could most likely pick up 10 to 15 of them right now on the Bay ... but the holes I have are tough coins in the market. That is why this circulated set is so much fun ... a great hunt for a true numismatic treasure. Appreciate everyones kind words and support as I chase this dream. David

David,
You could make an interesting slide show with a picture of your MS commem with the lowball commem next to it.

Dave, Do you still have an empty spot in your album next to the Rhode Island?

In my Dansco 7094 that slot is filled by a 1936 Cleveland ... which I grade in hand at XF40 and showed in my slide show. Wondering if you found a goodie for me! David
