I'm going to send it to PCGS then probably sell it, but its all new to me have no idea what I'm doing! I hear Heritage is way to go but if it isn't sold you still have to pay a commission and leary of e-bay.It would be cool to keep though, but couldn't we all use the money.

Get in contact with Heritage. They will handle the PCGS submission for you. It's a rare enough coin that it will probably be a highlighted item in one of their upcoming auctions. It will have no trouble selling.

Here's a thread about someone going through this process. This isn't quite that category of value, but it gives you an idea of the process.

I couldn't find the quote button but if you follow Badthads advice you will do well imo...Don't worry about not selling it..it will sell. There are alot of people with alot of money that would love that in their collection. Only 5 people do right now..

after you send it to PCGS and they send it back to you before you sell it please take a photograph of it and post it here. I would love to see it slabbed and graded.

bournepiper great find deserves several dancing fruit.
Take badthads advice and contact ken potter. He is a fantastic gentleman to talk to and probably the foremost expert on the CAMs. If you are going to be selling he will definately be able to generate the interest needed to attract the big bidders. When I had the story on my find done I had them put my name and city in the article, nothing ever happened but in retrospect if I were to do it again I would not let them publish my name or city, just the general location of the find.

whish you the best of luck

Was that the one that you showed me that day
you stopped by ? It did come from Mass. though correct ?
Who found the 3rd one?
I was unaware of a third find.
I remember seeing the first one found (raw) in hand here
at a local dealer of mine in Mass. The P's seem to have
found a home here in Mass. Maybe a box or so got dropped
off at one bank a while ago. In a way I hope that no more than 10 ea. are ever found. If more pop up the value may go down. I think I will start looking around again for one. Or a roll of BU's or two :) Hush,Hush
Rest in Peace

This find has inspired me to search a little harder. Having found recently my first WAM (a 2000) helps too. I'm encouraged that you're likely to find just about anything in a box of pennies. Yes, I know... it's sad that I have no life and the most exciting thing in my life these days is searching rolls of pennies, but, hey, to each his own. I'm a "the glass is half full" sort of person and so the search continues! I'm in Ohio and the Philly mint is the most common found. It's just as likely one of these CAM cents makes it my way as any other direction. Two were found in the Mass area, but the first one was found in Florida, so there's hope!
