My plan is STOP BUYING COINS (an other junk I don't need).

I have been trying to move down south for the last 10 years and I am my own worst enemy.

3 years ago I bought a third house (how many houses do you really need?)

Then last year I bought a 1965 Malibu that I spent my moving money on fixin up.

This year I blew my moving money on COINS.

Next year, I am moving. I promise.

I do plan on trying to trade my 90% and 40% halve finds from roll searching for a 1919S and 1923S Standing quarter for my set sometime.

I had to think about this for awhile but I have decided that I will purchase silver state and ATB Quarters. But I won't allow myself to buy them whenever I want...nope, I'm going to have to walk for them. That is, I will set a goal (not yet determined) and when I have walked enough and reached the goal, I allow myself to buy a year set.

My other goal is to clean-up my office, buy proper storage supplies, and organize what I have captured in the wild in notebooks ...maybe by year rather than by coin type.

I will continue roll searching, updating my coin list, and I'll still probably buy whatever I find to be irresistable.

We will get all the proof and mint sets. Get all the ASEs for the year. Catch up on the 5oz as much as we can. Expand our coin sales as much as we can.

As for albums, I want to finish at least my Jefferson and Kennedy Dansco albums.

VACookey wants to finish her BU/FBL grade Franklin set, expand her SLQ collection into higher quality coins and make better purchases in general. Oh, and she is getting this thing for all Seated coins.

We both need to catalog our stuff better. Anyone know any good non clunky updatable value programs?

@smokeriderdon - I'm working on a coin collection tracking program (the "Numismetrica" I mentioned earlier in this thread). Send me a private message if you want a beta account.

@TheRookie - Welcome aboard!

$4000 face in pennies is my goal for 2012. That would bring my total to $6000 face.

I'm looking to add a few of the serious parts to my BU Washingtons and my XF Shield nickels. I'll try to keep looking for deals in bad ebay photos of IHCs.

I really want to stop spending and save for one of the keys I'm missing.
1909 svdb, 1916 d dime, 1877 and 1909s IHC.

Every time I get a couple hundred (or less) I buy into Peace dollars or Washington quarters, which are my "new collections"

I need counseling

My goal is to get a gold eagle that's larger than 1/10 oz so I can actually see the details if it!

As a new collector I started collecting US and Canadian proofs and I'm really intrigued by the Canadian specimen coins (cool-looking finish, really wish the US Mint produced these).

I want to finish my Presidential Series dollars and State Quarters from what I can get from circulating coinage. Also get as much silver as I can get my hands on while prices are low!

I've received 7070 album for Christmas, so I am looking forward to start working on it. Fill some holes in my Lincoln Cent (only key date left) and Jefferson nickel albums. Maybe start Roosevelt dime album from circulation.

However, my priority is still adding to my Bulgarian collection.

And last but not least, I hope I have more time to read and post on this forum.

My 2012 plan is to first and foremost ORGANIZE what I have...

Then in no particular order:

1) Finish my Franklin half BU collection
2) Get an 1884-CC GSA Morgan.
3) Get a 1/10 oz. platinum eagle or a palladium maple/soviet ballerina
4) Start my mint set collection and update my proof 1956-current with the 2012 clad set.
5) Get more silver
6) I too need a digital way to document what I need ... Numismetrica Beta account, hint hint :)

Oh and this is my first post too, have been a lurker, just reading and stuff. Glad I finally joined.

to quote myself:

1936 Cincinnati set (p-d-s)

1972 ike ms65
1971 ike clad proof
1972 ike clad proof
1976 ike silver proof

1981 type 2 quarter
1981 type 2 dime

3 toned 50s quarters ms66

2000-s sac pr70
2008-s sac pr70
2010-s sac pr70
2011-s sac pr70
goodacre sac ms 65+

i'd say if I end up with 70% of these that i'd have a good, fun year.

UGH! there are no 71 and 72 clad Ike Proofs... you'd think after all these years I'd know that.

That said:

I've knocked out Cincy S, Sacagawea PR70 2010, and 72 TIII MS65... all done! Quarter of the way done for the year.
