Hello from Indiana. I enjoy collecting unusual items from old home sites and this is something I found 17yrs ago and still have not ID'd it. I believe it may be some type of very old coin. It is about an 1 and 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick through the center. It is not magnetic. Has anyone have any idea what I have? Oh and I also have a nice collection on wheat backs too

I moved your post to the Identification forum. Hopefully your piece can be identified quickly.
Rest in Peace

I have no idea what it is -- it might not be a coin. If it is thicker in the middle than it is at the rims I would suspect that it is a charm or piece of jewelry. What's on the other side?

It is the same on both sides. There is no place for to be used as a button.

How can I clean it without damaging it to show it's silver color?

It's sorta make out any details that might point to a country or date.
If it's the same on both sides, it's probably not a coin.
