Is this a Cud or a die chip or something else, I'm a newbie trying to learn correct terminology. Thanks for all responses.

That one is a die chip. Remember that a Cud necessarily involves the rim.

The filled area on the 9 is a die chip. ' Cud' refers to a broken die and involves the rim of the coin. It shows as a raised area on the side with the broken die and can cause an area of weakness on the opposite side because of the metal flow into the Cud.

Here's what a Cud looks like on this 1983-P Jefferson nickel.
