Found this coin while sweeping at work. I think this is an excellent opportunity for beginners like myself to learn from our more experienced community members. Was this an error made during the production process? Answers? Comments?

@wiq, normally when we see a concentric rim of disturbed metal slightly inside of the rim it is either Ridge Ring or damage from rolling machines (AKA the Ring of Death). Yours may be the latter, but with the underlying zinc starting to corrode and pushing up some on the copper plating.

The platted Zinclons are plagued with platting issues that are giving CRH`s a challenge of discerning what is or isn't a Mint process Error.
Knowing the Minting processes and understanding the material used for coins is vital to reducing the the "Stall Time" as I call, it by spending time examining worthless conditions on coins, so slowing one down on volume of inspected.

Photos are a bit blurry, looks like maybe trapped gas. A copper plating issue not an error.

agree with Bobby, a combination of several things created this effect.
A Ridge Ring, a very worn die, and possible plating blisters.

Try soaking it in 100% pure Acetone. That sticky gunk residue should come off.

Yes these new pics are very nice. Thx for adding them. Overall, I don't think that the verdict changes though.
