That's why I switched my order from 2 direct to 1 direct and one 70 from MCM.

Is it worth it to buy another? I got one the first day, should I get one more?

Looks like the U.S. Mint web site is getting hit pretty hard right now. I wonder how far by the 250k mark the final tally will be after today's rush. Just 2 hours left to order.

TheSilverSearcher: I have been debating buying another to possibly sell in the future and I went ahead and did it. Based on the current sales figure of 250k this set is going to have two of the lowest mintages for SAEs, so it should hold its value. Both of these coins will have a lower montage than the 1994 proof which goes for $100+

An added bonus is if you buy one now it does not ship until 10/31 so you should be able to tell what the final mintage is and see how they are holding up value wise before the order is processed. If they don't appear t hold value I may cancel my second order. Although honestly I don't see that happening.

Heck, I just ordered another for a total of 3. I know this isn't the same but I did well enough on my 25th Anniversary ASE sets to give it another whirl. If nothing else I should be able to make my money back and hopefully pay for part or all of one of the others. And like Dawg said, I can always cancel before 10/31.

wouldn't be surprised if the final mintage is well over 400k, with all the greed in the last few days... it would be fitting for a San Fransisco set to sell 420k. this no limit ordering is a good reminder of freedom just 1 day after Independence Day

Depends on when they remove the cancel box. Might be Monday, or might be next month.

As long as the cancel button is available, yes you can cancel. Your CC won't be charged until they are ready to ship and that is when your item status changes from backordered to "in stock and reserved" once that happens, the cancel button goes away and they charge your CC. Even if your sets were only part of an order and the other part has already shipped, you can still cancel the sets. That is why the mint charges all of the shipping charge to the first item shipped in a split ship order. All four of my orders (7 sets total) have included other items and those items are all in stock and will ship ahead of the sets. The mint typically splits an order when some items are ready to go when the weekly backorder status is updated. They will ship what is ready and wait for the rest.

talkcoin, there is no way that there are going to be orders for 150K sets in the last 2 or three hours. Sales dropped like a rock yesterday to only 5607 sets in 24 hours. I think it will be lucky to hit 255K ordered with the possibility of at least some cancellations.

Wouldn't matter if there's a cancel button or not. You can always return any set and all you're out is the shipping cost

Ah hah, now we know clair's total number ordered.

Once sales are closed we will have to get a post: " How Many Did You Order?"

I just bought another taking me up to four. 3 in separate boxes not that it matters this time ordered in the first 5 mins of sales due in late July, and 1 just now due on Halloween.

I hope this stays below 300k mintage but even if it doesn't I'm almost always happy with the US Mint and their products.

Good Idea southsav. If I don't see a thread soon i'll start one.

I think yesterday being July 4th had a lot to do with 5k in sales... First day had 85k... you are probably right that it won't get close to 400k, but I think today (last day) will be 2nd biggest sale or even more than day 1. That's a guess and not a gamble

The only problem is that today is only maybe three hours long, with the number being updated before 3PM and sales closing at 5PM. Sales have closed and the mint now says that the total WILL be updated tomorrow to reflect today's sales and give us a final number. They are also now saying that fulfillment will take place between July 27 and mid October.
