Are These 1988 And 2008 Five Cent Coins Common?

awildeheart Valued Member Australia 295 Posts	Posted 05/02/2012 07:26 am Hi, I'm just coming to terms with my new digital microscope, so the photos still aren't the best as I can't seem to tighten the arm enough so that it doesn't wobble/dip when I adjust the focus. Anyway, I came across these two coins during the weekend noodle challenge. Does anyone know why these two have the distinct smaller outlines within the rim? I also am still learning the standard terms for referring to coin specs and errors, so please let me know if there is a better or more accurate way to describe it. awildeheart Valued Member Australia 295 Posts	Posted 05/02/2012 09:28 am ... oh well ... that's bad news for me as I thought I was on to something. ... but I still think these two inner rims (the 1988 piccie doesn't really do the coin justice) are smaller than what a usual coin would be - but I certainly bow to more experienced opinions and evaluations.
