WOW for that price, for that grade, you did fantastic. 302,700 Minted so even if cleaned, so what. Possibly AU or better. I like that one. Ever wonder why the Mint chose to abbreviate Dollar? Why not 1/2 Dollar or make the Half Dollar smaller?  |

This one is kind of a "Catch-22". It shows lots of detail, but has been cleaned and shows damage. It would probably grade AU-50 details. A true AU-50 would set you back about $300~350.
If you wanted a gradeable coin, you would only get a VF-EF40 for $125.
Your call.

$125 is a bit high for a damaged coin like this. With it cleaned and that gouge on the head, I'd pass and wait for a nicer coin. Shop around, I found this coin last year on a dealer's web site for $95, it was graded EF. Not as scarce of a date but I wanted it for a 7070 type set.   Edited by IndianGoldEagle

Worst case scenrio I can sell it at my friends local auction house. From what I have seen oldies like this will go higher than normal jsut becasue the old geezers don't see them that often.
