Ive been on an ASE kick lately, I want to fill this roll before I worry about anything else right now. Lol So I was just wondering, does anyone have guidelines on how much over spot you pay for ASE's? Other than a site like Provident and what not, I cant seem to find them cheaper than $39. And with shipping, I would have to buy 10 oz at a time for the spot per coin to be under $39. So where do you guys buy your ASEs? My local coin shop closed  Edited by colu41

Aside from the places that you mentioned, I cant find any bullion less than $39 either. Always seems to be 5 bucks over spot. Though, the higher the prices, the less over spot they seem to be. Jmho.

The coinshop I buy bullion from sells them for $6 above spot.

I buy a few ASEs from my local coin and pawn shops. The bulk of my ASEs come from Provident or APMEX. I have not bought from GoldMart but they seem to have pretty decent prices. For me, it is less a matter of price than a matter of how much extra money I have on hand when the buy-silver itch strikes. Sometimes I get more, sometimes less, but I try to buy some at least every 6-8 weeks. Dang! I feel that itch coming on again!  |

i bought 21 when silver was 28.07 for 31 dollars, so thats like a little less than 3 dollar premium for BU 2012 ASE rolls. I got one roll and just one to carry in my pocket :P -bought at my local coin shop which has better prices (slightly) than APMEX |

They were $39 on Friday at my favorite Phoenix shop.

I hit the coin show Saturday. Mostly bullion dealers there and not too many coins. The lowest was bars at $2 over. American SAE and Canadian Moose were at $5 over at $38, then Bears and Cougars $39, $40. Almost bought a 10 oz Kookaburra for $400, looked awesome. |

wow! looks like I can get ASE in japanese auction for lower than people in US pay to dealers. Of course there is a chance of not winning, but a year ago situation was different. Saying that other bullion coins bear much higher premium. I have several ASEs but for my collection purposes I go for other bullion, with much higher premiums, like yesterday won 1/2 lunar 1 monkey 1/2 oz for $27 delivered. |

Goldmart.com sells them regularly for $2.59 over spot, which would be $37.29 right now. Just don't pay by credit card if you want the best prices.

I've noticed the credit/debit purchases being more pricey. How to you guys pay? It seems like if I go through all the hassle of getting a cashiers check or money order that the processing on their end takes a very long time?

It definitely takes longer for the other ways. If its a small purchase credits the easiest its not worth the hassle to save 4 or 5 dollars imo. But if youre making a large purchase where the savings would be substantial a bank transfer or check is probably the easiest way

I get what you mean basebal. I usually make $150 to $250 purchases from Provident, so next time it might be worth it to try a transfer or check.

TBK, sell me some for $3.50 over?  I just ordered a few off the bay for $38.50 w/ free shipping. Not bad I suppose. The seller had 20 available for Buy It Now and I ordered 3, they were gone within minutes. Craziness!! |
