I got bumped up to 10/9. Considering canceling to get a slab bed 69. Gold is at 1270(?) so I'm basically paying a $500 premium for an ungraded coin. I'm having second thoughts....

Also, anyone know where to get the graded regular proofs or am I too late?

Some of the regular proof graded 69s on ebay have been going as low as 1500s with other into the 1700s.

Morgans-Dad - I ordered my RPB on August 28th. Today the status on the Mint's website has changed to "In stock and reserved". I should have it in about a week.

@basebal

does that mean prices are now starting to drop on the secondary market for graded RBPs?

Yup I cant say what the 69s were when they first popped up but I never had any expectation of them carrying much of a premium with the outstanding quality these have over all. Many more are getting 70s than 69s which is pretty standard for the West Point gold pieces.

The 70s are selling for about 2250 with the ANA label ones getting about 3600 though so they still have a healthy premium

It's killin' me, I tell ya! The UPS driver has stopped by twice to drop off my Buffalo but I've been at work!

They'll be back tomorrow but again, I'll be at work.

So...I'll have to go to their customer service center where their fleet it located to pick up my coin. Hopefully I'll have it in hand tomorrow or the following day.

The anticipation is driving me nuts!

I took the day off from work and the UPS driver didn't show up till 19:04.

Anyways the coin is a real beauty and well worth the wait.

Anyone see anything I don't? The rev hair is on the outside of the capsule but I see a little dark fleck just below his winkie. Can't see it under my digital microscope though so I'm confused...

Anyway I think I'm going to have it slabbed otherwise I may play with it till it's worth spot

ehhh I think I see what you are talking about buddy. Dont look bad tho. I looked at mine and I dont see that. I cant get over how stunning this coin is.

I mean if you got a credit card, this coin, even if you dont ha ve the money, you go into debt for. Not that credit card debt is good, but this is REALLY worth the purchase for a collector. I mean this wont be done again, its the first ever.....

I drove down to the UPS Customer Service Center to pick mine up. Guess what? The driver was still out on his route and I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow!

Finally! I've got this beauty in my grubby hands!

Initially I went ballistic because I thought there was a scratch on the check of the obverse. I oh so carefully removed it from the airtite capsule and gently touched the scratch with a Q-tip.

It moved! Turns out that it was a small fragment of the airtite which must have broken off when they placed the coin inside of it.

So....without further ado, here it is!

It is stunning in person! I'm so glad that I took the plunge and picked one of these up. It is the flagship of my coin armada!
