In French it sounds like:
«Un decapage en bonne et due forme»

I don't know if it can be translated as:
«Stripping in due form»

That said, it's sad
I'm sorry if my English isn't perfect... I'm learning a little more every day.

I don't want to poo-poo on Gebs coin, or his/her excitement, OR ironhorse's opinion....

BUT...

that maggy has been cleaned beyond the term cleaned.

I suspect acid + bleach + comet + a wire wheel and maybe some 100 grit sandpaper to finish it off.

It's still a piece of history and should be treasured, but it would take 200 years to un-do what has be done to that token and it would still be a "details" coin.

it's not a beauty... it's a tragedy

@Wade

Don't worry I was being a bit sarcastic.

I know it is worn down pretty hard and the cleaning is beyond believe. The token is so mangled it becomes a beauty of its own

But I still picked it up for a decent price I think, and I just love the story behind the token. In the future I might find one that is in better shape.

As you mention, Gebs, the story behind those guys is pretty great! They don't seem to be that rare but are very popular. I have had zero luck (and a thin wallet) whenever I've tried to nab one of them; the Magdalen Islands Penny continues to elude my collection...

That 1820 Nova Scotia token is a beauty Wade.

concerning the Tiffins

I sold a 'Hammer-head' variety and the 'long bust' variety in the recent auction.

The 'long bust' is Charlton's LC-60-E4, Courteau BH 19.

The term 'hammer head' was affectionally termed by Doug Robins and exhibits a severe diagonal die break through the Angels Head. This is from a late state of Charlton's LC-60D2, Courteau BH 6.

In 2004, Gregory S. Ingram and Branko Marelic published an excellent 85 page work on the Tiffin Series.

Colonialtokens, ahh I see you were referring to the Bust & Harps. I've had a recent interest in the series and have been snatching up the varieties that I've been able to get my hands on. Some of the scarcer ones are likely to evade me for the foreseeable future, however.

Have examples of Co BH 6 ever been identified without the massive die break on the reverse?
