punman Pillar of the Community Canada 849 Posts	Posted 03/15/2014 6:07 pm The large cent was out of circulation for may years when the small cent was dropped last year so I don't expect any difference there. I am curious about the small cents though. Will prices rise as they are going out of circulation or will prices drop because people won't see pennies any more and lose interest in collecting them? pennysaver Pillar of the Community Canada 937 Posts	Posted 03/16/2014 12:02 pm There are still such huge quantities of circulated small cents out there that I don't believe they will ever do much. Errors and varieties, or red ms coins will have a better chance, but I think it's only going to be the rarities or pre-1961 pennies in great shape that will rise in value. Maybe in your grandkids time; depends how many old jars of pennies are still around after people finally send them back to mint to be melted. Report this Post to the Staff
