"There's a sucker born every minute" is a phrase most likely spoken by David Hannum, in criticism of both P. T. Barnum, an American showman of the mid 1800s, and his customers. The phrase is often credited to Barnum himself. It means "Many people are gullible, and we can expect this to continue."

People thought that it was another exhibit at his museum.
They had to pay twice to get back inside.
They went through the exit door!

I guess this proves people will sell anything on ebay for some quick money. As for whoever bid the $2, they must really want it or they can't read.

Recently I saw an auction for a coin where the sub-line was "perfect for the Canadian collector".

For a $200 coin:

Shipping to "Canada": $36
Import charges (where in fact seller ships it to a hub in the US): $46+ (estimated)

Some American sellers have gone nuts.
