Med, we've been stuck in the 1460's for 5 days (so far).
Ruling required, please?

We might get stuck for good, if no suitable coin gets posted to satisfy the criteria for the decade. But as said in a previous post, it will not be this decade - will dig out my James II.

While I was hoping that a single coin would be posted to satisfy this decade, I consider that it is not worth waiting longer - there will be other snags coming up. Since it is highly unlikely that both the coin posted by 'davidrj' on "02/07/2015 04:51 am" and the following coin from James II were both minted in 1460, let's proceed at midnight to the 1451-1460 decade. AE Sezin of James II of Cyprus - CCS#166/165 Obverse: +IACOBVS DEI GRAIA XX R around rampant lion of Cyprus left Reverse: ...ID]ERUSAI[S... around Cross of Jerusalem

Okay, off to 1451-1460!
Hopefully we don't get stuck here for good. As far as I know, I don't have a single coin to resolve this period.

Would a brass farthing from James III of Scotland satisfy the 1461-70 requirement?

Quote: Would a brass farthing from James III of Scotland satisfy the 1461-70 requirement? It fits nicely into today since his reign started 1460. While it would not help to move forward, contemporary coinage is welcome to be shown. & to 'EddieDiz' & 'davidrj' both perfect ones for today - now I can sleep easy

Time for the next decade! 1441-1450 is up.
But don't hesitate to posts those coins you missed posting in the last days - 'DKA-Numis', waiting to see your James III Farthing, one doesn't see Scottish coins too often.

Beautiful coin 'johnee82' but this actually fits better into the next decade (and meets the requirements to settle it). Please do not post ahead in time (ie the starting date of the minting period being prior to the active decade) - if you miss out on posting on the right day, you can still post it for a few days after.

Let's quickly settle this decade: AE Fals AH(8)48 (ie 28/04/1444-16/04/1445) from Mahmud Shah ibn Ibrahim (AH844-AH861) of the Sultans of Juanpur - cf.Mitchiner#2881+ Obverse inscription read the name "Mahmud Shah ibn Ibrahim Shah" Reverse inscription ends in the date, the century digit is off the flan.

Am I to late? Scottish "Crossraguel" Penny (Crossraguel abbey in Maybole, Scotland) This tiny coin is a symbol of the lost power of St Andrews. St Andrews was the most important ecclesiastical foundation in Scotland and as such was granted the right to mint its own coins by the crown. This penny was probably minted by Bishop James Kennedy in 1452 CRVX PELLIT OMNE CRIMEN : the cross expels all sins IACOBVS D G REX : James, king by the grace of God
