The 1955 mintage is 7,888,000 pieces. If you include proofs, it is 8,266,200. However, I consider them different mintages and go by the 7.9 mil figure.

Results for Box #2:

18 Pre-60 (2 more 39P) seems oddly high for 39's
2 2009-P
1 Canadian
3 BU hole fillers for my Daughter's album

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with the Pre-60's yet. I have thought about selling them but I will need to start an e-bay account. I was saving copper for a while and decided I didn't have the interest in pennies so I took them all back to the bank. I may end up doing that with the Nickels if they keep adding up. I'm up to over $300 in rolled Pre-60 now (I have a few rolls of 2009's also mixed in). I know there is value in selling them on e-bay. But the time it take to list and ship them doesn't seem to make it worth the effort. I know everyone values their time differently. I would just rather spend the time with my Daughter at the moment. I know I'll have to make a decision if it gets over $500. That's my limit.

I don't have a lot of pre-60 at the moment, but for now I'm just going to stash them. I've thought about selling in the future- maybe here on CCF.

Pre 60, even in rolls, don't seem to sell too well. It's a shame. Maybe it's just my experience.

True Duncan. There always seems to be one member who does alright on the sale but they are too common to command a premium. Maybe if they were bundled: under 10M rolls, 20M rolls, etc. or maybe by the bag/box.

Murphy, Cud nickels are worth a decent amount to collectors, typically much more than the valkue of a worn War Nickel. You can check ebay for recent sales if you're curious. I've searched $4.4K in nickels and found only 1 Cud.

Berto,

I have sold a few select coins on e-bay before. I deleted the account and need to start a new one if I want to sell again. I'm not sure it's really worth it anymore. Just my opinion. For now, I just save the special ones to give to my Daughter. She's only 2 now, but I'll explain them to her when she gets older.

Man, I really need to get going. I've been extremely busy these Las couple weeks between programming homework and drivers' ed (3-5 PM 3 days a week).
Until they start taking up too much space, I figure I'll just hold on to the pre-60s. Who knows- maybe someday they'll bring a premium. If not, maybe I can use them to help get my kids collecting in 20 years or so.
