coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/15/2016 1:08 pm The raised areas next to the rim is Die Deterioration. This is really noticed strongly on the 1980's zincoln cents. (the 80's zincolns were also heavily over polished reducing the height off the field, enhancing the raised area) Note the area from 12:00 - 3:00. But it still continues as a problem with the zinc series but not quite as bad. Report this Post to the Staff
