How does it compare to 1997's and 1999's. It may mean they created a new master hub in 1998 and moved the lettering in further from the edge.
Took a look at a couple pictures and it does look like they may have moved the lettering in a little in 1998. One thing to consider is that they also started tweaking the master hubs every year at some point.
