Hey Eagle Foot -

How much did you pick up the Phillipenes One Peso bill for, with the orange VICTORY back?

I have one like it that I picked up at the flea market and have been trying to get a value of it for a while, but can't find it anywhere.

Do you have any idea of the value?

Thanks - morgantype

A friend found this old thing with his metal detector and gave it to me. I didn't ask (never look a gift horse in the mouth) but I think he probably tried to clean it up a mite. Not much to look at (pretty corroded) but I think it's kinda cool. In hand the date is legible, but a scan of a copper coin just never seems to do it justice.

It's quite amazing how you can just find a 200-year-old coin with a metal detector. There doesn't seem to be as much metal-detecting in UK as there is in America - certainly not where I live anyway. (London).
Rest in Peace

I just picked up an 1848 VF35 dime graded by ANACS. The pictures were terrible but the coin is AT LEAST that grade, maybe XF40. Numismedia lists $110 in XF and $60 in XF. For $50, it was one heck of a deal.
