Morgantype.......

Hey Eagle Foot -

How much did you pick up the Philippines One Peso bill for, with the orange VICTORY back? Do you have any idea of the value?

Morgan.......
I received that in a "bulk purchase" of Silver Certificates. Just generalizing, about $6.00-$8.00 for that bill. It's not in good shape at all. And, of course, the better shape something is in.....the better value you'll get for it.

A couple that I probably paid too much for:

1931-S, second-lowest mintage of the series. The light line on the reverse is a cat hair

Mintage of only 700K- yes, I know it's been cleaned. Trying to figure out some way to give it a more neutral tone

Picked this on up at a pawn shop for $14 (price on the sticker was $23)... not sure what happened to the reverse

Yeah DL20K, where is that coin from? Uruguay would be my guess, but I can't find anything to substantiate that.

On the 2x2 it says Guatemala
I checked and indeed it is from there. Can't always trust what they write on the 2x2s.

Aha, a 1/4 reale. The sun looks a lot like the one on some of the Uruguayan coins:

I read this whole thread, there is some nice coinage here! Makes my stuff look not all that great.

I have been really getting into pre-decimal British pennies as of late, and those from the commonwealth countries too.

I bought these coins today from a hobby shop that also sells coins. Got them from the foreign bargian bin for a dime each. I don't know if I overpaid or not, but gosh darn I like them.

I figure the melt value on these is 6¢ for the pennies and 4¢ for the half pennies, so I'm not out that much if I did.

DL20K, I have the same little coin. TINY! Just picked up 3 Large Cents from Long Beach yesterday. For my 7099. This one dealer is at Long Beach every time I am there. He specializes in Large Cents. He must have about 300 for sale. He has some that are "finest known" or tied for "finest known". I really liked this 1796 Draped Bust he had. Who wouldn't! He graded it MS66BN. It was gorgeous. I almost cried when I saw it. Little out of my price range!

Great looking bunch of Coppers there Bowfin. Dime a piece sounds more than fair, I picked up a few this summer that were a quarter, per coin, so your deal was two and a half times better.

So no guesses as to where this is from?
