I received this one in change and the United States obviously has an issue that I'd say came from the mint this way. What kind of mint error would this be? Any premiums?
That's just the die showing its age. It's called Die Deterioration, which is caused by the die being worn down, from striking planchets at the U.S. Mint. It's not an error, since it's part of normal wear and tear of the die breaking down slowly. http://goccf.com/t/317950
It is a form of Die Deterioration. And the almost missing rim makes me think it is also probably a Mis Aligned Die but none of you images show the opposite edge of the reverse to confirm that.
Might be worth a buck or two if you marketed it at "Severe Die Flow Error" on ebay, since this one is pretty severe it might bring a premium just like how very severe Machine Doubling errors sometimes bring a premium.
