I have an 1879-O that has a note that it's a VAM8A.
It should have chips in the 8, but I'm not seeing them.
Can anyone tell based on the pictures below or do I need some better images?
Any input is appreciated.

Thank you.

Based on your images it maybe 8A. Compare your base of the 7 in the date to images on VAM world

When you look at the bottom of the "8"" you should notice the very slight changes in color that even appear to be very slightly dimpled. I hope that helps.

I am getting a professional to take a picture of my 1878-s/cc which I plan on having up tomorrow evening. When you look at my "s" mint mark you can see something coming out from the side on the left center a dealer told me it's definitely a dbl mint mark but he wasn't sure if it's s/s or s/cc.
